Another Season has come and gone.
It’s almost Easter, and everyone knows what that means. Soon the car haulers will start showing up to be loaded up and heading back up north. Soon congestion on I-75 north will be worse then the traffic has been on 41 south heading to downtown around dinner time on any given day of the week. Soon, reservations will be a thing of the past but unfortunately cloudless skies and low humidity will also unfortunately be a thing of the past as the hot days of summer come barreling in bringing with it the high humidity and regular afternoon showers.
If you’re one of those heading back up north, a seasonal resident of Naples, we wish you safe travels and a cool and relaxing summer, wherever that may be. As a friendly reminder, remember to keep your A/C’s set ideally at 77-78 degrees. Turn your main water off, lock your doors and windows, and if possible leave a set of keys with a trusted friend who is a full time resident so they can check on your place while you’re gone. It’s always nice to have someone to keep an eye on your place just in case. Of course there are businesses that offer the service and that’s a viable option for anyone.
It’s odd, but every year about this time I’m reminded how much of life is a cycle. The seasons changing, weather changing, and of course our general lifestyle here in Naples changing. I think of other places that aren’t affected by the seasons the way Naples is. Where it’s sort of busy ALL the time. Tampa comes to mind. Even Ft. Myers too for that matter. Naples is such a beautiful place that it’s almost like people swarm to come here first and then take whatever’s left over as a back-up. I can’t say I blame them. I must also say the older I get I can’t blame for them leaving for cooler, more Naples winter like conditions for the summer. Regardless, to everyone going back, again, safe travels, enjoy your summer, we’ll try and do the same. We look forward to seeing you all next season, whenever that may start for you. Until then, we’ll enjoy the Naples that you rarely get to see unless you’re a year round resident. Have a good spring and summer everyone!
